//Snippets of Ideas//

There once was a world called Earth, many people lived in it. One day, Earth found out that their planet was dying. They began researching- forgetting all wars, just willing to stay alive. Many died during the process when they finally built a ship, people trampling each other, envy and hatred boiled up once more.
100 years later…

New France- Entry One- Jacques Tellamet
Soldiers are everywhere, my father just died and my older brother told me to leave and flee. My sister was taken to Grandpa’s Manor. All I have on my back is my violin, I now travel to a nearby village.

Jacque looked up from his journal, squinting at the two bright suns. He opened his pack and stuffed it inside. He approaches the village gate, Two guards loom in the towers “Who goes there”
“A wandering nomad, just coming from Vehiral. I come seeking food and a place to rest” Jacque said holding his hand up to block the sunlight. Just then a horse passes by him, a girl with markings on her arms holds up a piece of bark with a mark on it. The gates open. “Come on through…oh and you too boy!” one of the guards spat.Jacque hauled up his bag and  followed the girl on the horse.

The Village was teeming with people, salesmen shouting from their stalls, children chasing eachother, and other wandering travelers. Jacque could smell meat cooking, and stews brewing, and even the faint smell of wine and ale. He eventually came to the inn, which also doubled as a place to drink and listen to bards. “Welcome, welcome, please come to the counter” A woman shouted emerging from the cellars. Jaque approached  the counter. “One room please…and a warm meal” he mumbled handing her a few coins. “Merci, come this way” she says stuffing the coins away. She leads him to a room and hands him a key. “Here you are, the cost is five coins a day, after today” she smiled leaving him alone. He threw himself onto the bed grinning. He could hear the bard telling the tale of Earth.

“And they built a ship, many died in the process, but one man stopped all the deaths, leading to his own. Soon after being in orbit for fifty years they came back, but earth was no more. A man named Harold re-named it to Latin, Terra Nova; Harold was French, so he planted a settlement, and called it Dlorah. “soon after a war broke loose against the English-“ the bard was cut off by a loud scraping noise.

Questions about books

I am a thief.

Why am I a thief? I'm stealing yet another post idea,  (if it makes it any better, she stole it from someone else, so it's more like I'm copying her idea than actually stealing it, right?) Plus, it's all about books, so how can I resist?
1.  Your favourite book as a child?
I started out with The American Girl books :P, but the first series that really got me into reading was The Guardians Of Ga'Hoole, that inspired me to write my own stories.

2.  What are you reading right now?
Erm, a lot, actually. As always, I am reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer, City of Bones by Cassandra Claire, Leviathan by Scott Westerfield and The Death Cure by James Daschner.

3.  What books do you have on request at the library?
None at the Moment :P

5.  What do you currently have checked out from your library?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
nope

6.  Do you have an e-reader?
Yes, I rarely use it

7.  Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or do you tend to read several at once?
Seriously? Think long and hard about this one.

8.  Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?
nope.

9.  What was your least favourite book this year?
I dont have one yet :P

10.  What was your FAVOURITE book this year?
That's like asking my mom which of her kids is her favorite. You just don't do that.

11.  How often do you read out of your comfort zone?
I try to give most books a shot, but if they're obviously outside my "reading requirements" or if I encounter something that truly infuriates/disturbs me, I usually put it down.

12.  What is your reading comfort zone?
If a book has unceasing swearing, sensual or sexual situations, or graphic violence (and by graphic I mean REALLY graphic), I don't read it.  Genre-wise, I just don't like the supernatural/romance genre of things, but they're not out of my comfort zone. (previous blogger, I agree)

13.  Can you read in the car?
Yup, but only for about an hour and a half at a time. Otherwise I get carsick

14.  Where is your favourite place to read?
On my bed, or during the hot seasons I like going outside on a quilt.

15.  What is your policy on book-lending?
I'll let you borrow a book, but if you crumple one page of my precious, I'm never lending anything to you again. Books have feelings too, you know.
Rules for borrowing my book

16.  Do you ever dog-ear in books?
  No, unless absolutely necessary

17.  Do you ever write in the margins of your books?
NOOOO

18.  What about text books?
noooooo

 English, kinda the obvious choice

20.  What makes you love a book?
A well written story with great Characters and a Fantastic Plot

21.  What would inspire you to recommend a book?
if its just too good for me just to read (I find myself constantly recommending The Giver..Weird)

22.  What is your favourite genre?
Again with that picking thing. Honestly, you can do better. I love all my genres equally, thank you very much.

23.  What is a genre you rarely read but wish that you did?

25.  Have you ever read a self-help book?
Nopity nope nope no. what ever that is

Ummmmm.....I don't use cookbooks much. Most of the things I cook I've memorize the recipe and don't remember where the heck it originally came from.

27.  What is the most inspirational book you have read this year?
The Maze Runner By James Dashner

28.  Favourite reading snack?
Iced Tea, cookies, popcorn (anything that isnt really Sticky)

29.  Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.
mmmmmmmmm.... I'm pretty much a book hipster :P

30.  How often do you agree with critics about a book?
I don't really read book critic reviews, unless I'm unsure if I want to read something. Even then, I don't let their opinion change what I think of the book. Or at least, I try.

31.  How do you feel about giving negative reviews?
I don't give reviews that often

32.  If you could read a foreign language, which would you choose?
Latin (not that many books are written in Latin, but many languages root from Latin so, I would know many many languages)

Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Frost and Shakespeare

36.  On average, how many books do you have checked out of the library at any given time?

like 80 dollars.....

47.  How often do you skim a book before reading it?
 Always.

48.  What would cause you to stop reading a book halfway through?
Dry characters, bad plots, cliche villains....everything that makes books horrid

49.  Do you like to keep your books organized?
YES, I like to alphabetical order them, I need another shelf though...some of my books are in a stack on a floor

50.  Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you're done with them?
