HAPPY NEW YEAR! Plus, The Red Door Part 2 (of four parts)

Hello! Hope you've had a good last year, and wish you all a wonderful one ahead!

To kick off the New Year, I decided to give you Part 2 for The Red Door
Short story!

The Red Door
(Part 2)

I open the door, a simple room sits empty, the bleak walls and flooring grey, like an old pale moon. In the middle sits a large box, layers upon layers of dust sits atop it. I walk towards it hesitantly; my fingers graze the old cherry wood, engravings of forest scenes. “Gregory!” I shout pulling my hazel hair back nervously.
I hear my brother’s feet approaching. He pokes his head in “What is it Winnie-The-Pooh?” he asks stepping inside glancing at the box. (I hate the pet name he gave me)
“What is that?” he says mouth agape. “I don’t know genius” I reply standing up crossing my arms. Gregory carefully approaches it as if it was dangerous.
“Seriously, Gregory it’s a stupid box!”
“Winnie… do you have any clue what this is?”
“No, why should I…and why should you?”
“This is from my dream… a few nights ago…Winnie listen to me!” he yells
I snap out of a trance “What” I growl
“Open it”.

Thanks for reading and have a great rest of the day!

Sincerely,
A.C. Garbarino.

(Part three will be coming out next Tuesday the seventh)

My Book Writing Nook tour Part One

Hello! In this post you will see my wonderful-lovely-amazing-cozy bedroom!
Starting with my entryway/ side table
I have a picture of an illustrated owl, a clay owl I made, a pen and a pencil (for awakening ideas)
my clock/ipod charger.
and a little lamp.
My mom made this painting for me, its supposed to be me holding books,
and the quote is from The Book Thief.
Here is my Vintage Royal Typewriter from 1964, it has a lovely yellow color!

Over here is my desk, lets have a closer look!
A few journals, an adorable pencil-cup filled with (You got it!) pencils and pens
(Note the sonic screwdriver pen)
This is my electric typewriter,
its blue and loud (I don't mind)

This is my little white board
with word magnets!

Hello, Mr. Mark Twain!

My book plate packaging I got from
Anthropology

Typewriter paper weight.

My (Scratched up and dirty) Glasses
this is my first pair from a couple years ago.
Inside drawer #1
Pencils, scissors, notebooks and journals,
white board markers, highlighters, markers,
Sticky notes and a few lose papers.

Inside drawer #2
sticky notes, paper clips inside a Trader Joes green tea mint container,
different sized paper clips, clips, A cyberman head (his name is Handles)
pencil led, mockingjay pin, pencil sharpener, braclet, marble, spare earring, tack...
that was random, note thingy with crayon colors.

Inside drawer #3
Rough draft for last book in series, ink (from dad)
Mod Podge (Mom said she was looking for this)
Tape, pouch mom made for me, pencils and pens, a flower pen, loose papers and some bird creature (he is hiding under the mod podge)

In one of my cupboards lied organizing bins full of half full, empty or full notebooks,
files full of spare notes or stories I never finished or gave up on,
above lies a smash journal and a box full of things to put in it.

The Well & The World

So this is the first book I am currently working on,
The first two rough drafts where written on my vintage typewriter
I am now working on it in Microsoft Word.

It is about a boy who thinks he is an orphan and lives in a mansion
with his "Parents" one day while just arriving from school
he meets a girl who claims to be a daughter of proclaimed criminal mastermind
Regal Thort, she then "kidnaps" him and brings him to what would have been his real home and finds out that he has real parents and he was kidnapped as a child.

that's a sort of summary of it.
although there is much more too it than that, but you wouldn't want to
basically read the entire book

Now this lovely picture i think sparked the wishing well thing...
plus C.S. Lewis's whole "Another World" through something as simple as a wardrobe,
this is THE picture that began the story.

Thank you!

Sincerly,
A.C. Garbarino
